These terms govern your use of StickTax, a tax calculation application for BigCommerce stores. By installing or using StickTax, you agree to these terms.
StickTax calculates cigar excise tax and sales tax at BigCommerce checkout based on rules you configure. StickTax provides the calculation engine. You provide the tax rules, rates, and configuration. StickTax does not provide tax advice, legal counsel, or regulatory guidance.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the tax rules you configure in StickTax. This includes excise tax methods, rates, caps, sales tax rates, and which states are active. StickTax calculates tax based on the rules you provide — if the rules are incorrect, the calculations will be incorrect.
StickTax does not verify that your configured rates match current state regulations. Tax laws change. It is your responsibility to keep your rules up to date with current state and local tax requirements.
StickTax is not a tax advisor, accountant, or legal service. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional for guidance on your excise tax and sales tax obligations.
StickTax is installed through the BigCommerce App Marketplace. Your BigCommerce store credentials are used to authenticate access. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your BigCommerce account. StickTax does not create separate user accounts.
New installations receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start the trial. After the trial ends, you must subscribe to a paid plan to continue using StickTax. If you do not subscribe, StickTax will return zero tax at checkout — it will not block or interfere with your checkout process.
StickTax is offered as a monthly subscription. Payment is processed through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app's Settings tab or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.
We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep StickTax available and responsive. However, we do not guarantee 100% uptime. If StickTax is unavailable or encounters an error during a checkout, it is designed to return zero tax rather than block the transaction. This means a temporary outage may result in orders processed without tax, not in failed checkouts.
Our collection and use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using StickTax, you consent to the data practices described in that policy.
You agree to use StickTax only for its intended purpose: calculating cigar excise tax and sales tax at BigCommerce checkout. You agree not to:
StickTax, including its code, design, and documentation, is our proprietary property. Your subscription grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the application for its intended purpose. You do not acquire any ownership rights through your use of StickTax.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StickTax is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for:
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of StickTax is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold StickTax harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your tax configurations, or your violation of these terms.
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may uninstall StickTax from your BigCommerce control panel. We may terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data is retained for 30 days and then deleted unless you request earlier deletion.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of StickTax after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
